Parent Drop Off and Pick Up

Safety:

When dropping off students please remain in your car to assist with traffic flow.

Additional parking is available on our neighboring side streets as the west staff lot is used for 2nd and 3rd grade pick up and drop off and buses.  Please be respectful of our neighbors' driveways. Remember to  be aware of pedestrian traffic, use crosswalks, follow all safety laws, and that U turns are illegal in the city of Walla Walla.

Drop off:

Families, please remain in your vehicle when dropping off.

  • Kindergarten - 3rd Grade - Enter through the front doors on Pleasant Street.
    • Kinder & 1st Grade drop-off will be in front of the school. Please do not leave your car in the drop-off/pick-up zone. If you plan to walk your child to class, you are welcome to park in surrounding areas or school parking lots.
    • 2nd & 3rd Grade students may also use the bus loop drop-off zone (as in years past). Staff will supervise as students walk to the front doors.
  • 4th & 5th Grade - Enter through the side door on School Ave. near Carl St. All 4th and 5th grade bus riders will enter through the breezeway doors.

Families are welcome to walk students to their classroom between 7:45–8:00 a.m.  At 8:00 a.m., all visitors must leave so instruction can begin — this is firm. Thank you for understanding.

Class begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. Students arriving after 8:00 will be marked tardy. If you are running late, please call our office to let our secretaries know.

Pick up:

Families, please remain in your vehicle when picking up.

  • Kinder & 1st Grade - Pick-up will be in front of the school.
  • 2nd & 3rd Grade - Students will exit through the front doors. 2nd & 3rd Grade students may use the bus loop pick-up zone (as in years past). Staff will supervise as students walk there.
  • 4th & 5th Grade - Pick-up zone is along School Ave. Students will exit through the back door by the gym or the side door on School Ave.

Departure Time

1. Walking and bicycle riding students are expected to leave campus promptly at 2:40 pm when the bell rings (they are not to stop and play on the playground). This rule is in place for the safety of our students, as there is no staff supervision during after school hours on the playground for general play. Staff will be supervising the loading of bus students during this time.

2. Bussing students should report immediately to the bus loading zone on the west side of the building. The playground area is closed except for those waiting for a bus. This rule is in place to help staff to adequately supervise the bus/day care students.

3. Those students waiting for rides should have a prearranged spot to meet their parents.  We ask that parents not enter the gym parking lot to drop off or pick up students - for safety reasons, the gym parking lot has been designed for staff parking only and other cars should not use it for a turn around or loading area.

4. Students who are unsure of after school plans should report to the office immediately to be assisted in contacting their parents.
