Veterans Day Program

Please join us on Friday, November 7th  at 1:30 in our gym for our annual Veterans Day tribute. The program will be recorded and DVD's will be available for purchase.

We'd love for all area Veterans to attend!

Congratulations to our top winners in the Camp Read A Lot  fundraiser.  Nice job Bulldogs!

What's happening at Berney

  • 5th grade Boys Basketball begins Monday 11/3-see Mr. Van Dyke for forms
  • Tuesday 11/4 is Family Science Night in our Gym 6:00 p.m.
  • Please join us for our Veterans Day program Friday 11/7 at 1:30
  • There will be NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, Novemebr 11th in honor of Veterans Day

 

2014-2014 Americanism Essay Contest

If you are in the 5th through 8th grades and  would like to enter the Elks essay contest, please pick up an entry form in the front office.
The theme this year is " What the Pledge of Allegiance Means to Me" and essays need to be under 250 words. Amazon gift cards will be awarded to the top three recipients at the local level and the winners will move up to the divison level. The deadline for entries is January 10, 2015.

Canned Food Drive

Please join us in working with the Walla Walla Area Realtors on this years canned food drive. We have two donation barrels in the front office for your convenience, At the end of last week, we had collected over 1100 lbs of food which is about 2/3 of the way to our goal.

When students bring in donations between October 20 and 31st, they will receive hot chocolate or apple cider as a thank you for donating.If we reach our goal, there will be a student council sponsored spirit day in November.


 

 


Pick Up and Drop Off Reminders

Parents and visitors, please observe the following:

The west parking lot entrance is an “enter only” lot for staff and visitor parking. When you are ready to leave campus, please use the one way exit loop that runs parallel to the bus lane.

The gym parking lot is reserved for staff parking during school hours and shall not be used as a pick up/drop off zone.

The bus lane/car exit area is reserved for busses only and is not to be used to pick up or drop off students. It shall not be used as a drive through lane for private vehicles.

It's Hip to Clip!

The classroom competition grows fierce for these little pink Boxtops for Education. Keep an eye out for the little guys on bag of chips, boxes of Kleenex , granola bars and ziplocks and many other common groceries. Each month a new classroom is awarded the reigning champion of the boxtops! Who will it be this month?

Welcome to Berney Elementary

Berney school hours are 8:15 a.m.-3:00 p.m. with the cafeteria opening at 8:00 a.m. for breakfast. For their safety, please do not have students arrive before 8:00 a.m. as there is not adequate supervision outside. Remember~every Wednesday we release at 2:00 p.m.

Please be extra careful traveling to and from school. Walkers, be sure to use the cross walks and side walks.  Student drop off and pick up areas have been expanded to the front of the school and continue around the building to the west side of School Ave. The parking lot west of Berney is an "enter only" lot for staff and visitors. For safety reasons, the bus lane/car exit area is not a student drop off and pick up area.
